1. Information we collect

Account data: When you sign up, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google.

Recipe data: Recipes you save, meal plans you create, and shopping lists are stored on our servers to sync across your devices.

Usage data: We collect anonymous analytics (pages visited, features used) to improve the product. We do not track you across other websites.

2. How we use your data

We use your data to provide, maintain, and improve Gratly. Specifically:

• To sync your recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists across devices
• To provide AI features (nutrition estimates, substitutions, diet conversion)
• To send you account-related emails (password resets, billing)
• To improve the product based on anonymous usage patterns

3. Chrome extension

The Gratly Chrome extension runs locally in your browser. Recipe extraction happens entirely on your device, and we do not send full page content to our servers just to detect or extract a recipe.

The extension sends data to our servers only when you ask it to do something that requires syncing or AI processing. That can include saving an extracted recipe, syncing shopping-list items, sending recipe ingredients for substitutions or nutrition estimates, sending recipe content for diet conversion, or sending a social-video URL when you request an import from TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties except:

• Service providers necessary to operate Gratly (hosting, email delivery, payment processing)
• When required by law or to protect our rights

5. AI features

When you use AI features (nutrition estimates, substitutions, diet conversion, or social imports), the specific recipe data, ingredient data, or source URL needed for that request is sent to our AI provider to generate the result. This data is not stored by the AI provider and is not used to train AI models.

6. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on secured servers. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. We retain your data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in) and anonymous analytics. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Your rights

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice.
